JumpStart prepares rising 6th Graders to begin their school year at their new school. Participants spend the day at Madison Middle School touring the building, meeting their principal, eating in the cafeteria, trying the locks on the lockers they’ll be using, and getting a first look at their class schedules. Spending the day in these learning activities with many new classmates provides the best kind of introduction to Madison Middle School

Executive Director
of Communities in Schools, Bruce Murray: “We had a great turnout for JumpStart this year and all the students that participated started this year fully aware of their new school. There were a total of 108 new 6th graders who participated.
