New Director Named for CISMC Board
The Board of Directors of the Communities In Schools of Madison County (CISMC) is pleased to announce the recent addition of Steve Honeycutt to the Board of Directors.
“We are very fortunate that Steve agreed to serve on our Board,” said Connie Buckner, Board Chair. “Steve brings a wealth of knowledge of this area and its people through his pastoral experience and his work with other nonprofit boards.”
Steve is a native of Western North Carolina, and a graduate of North Buncombe High School, Asheville Buncombe Technical College and Mars Hill University. He worked for Square D Corporation in different management positions until his retirement in 2007. He also served as pastor for North Fork and Long Branch Baptist churches in Madison County for 34 years. He assumed his current role as the Associational Missionary for the French Broad Baptist Association in 2012.
Steve lives with his wife, Beverly, in the Leicester community in north Buncombe County. He also serves on the Community Housing Coalition board (CHC) and Mountain Area Pregnancy Service (MAPS).
“All of my pastoral work has been in Madison County and I have a great love for this area,” reports Steve. “I feel honored to have been asked to serve on the CISMC board to help ensure our young people have every opportunity to complete their education.”
